iMedX Announces Acquisition of LS Services Inc.
iMedX expands into the hospital and Government market
Shelton, Connecticut — March 3rd, 2008 — iMedX Inc., a leading healthcare software
and services company, announced today that it has acquired LS Services Inc., (LS). LS,
founded in 1990, currently serves hospitals and State Governments across the country,
with a US-based transcription workforce. With the acquisition of LS, iMedX gets deeper
penetration into hospitals and the Government market, and expands its in-house and
home-based network of US-based medical transcriptionists. LS’s offices in Ohio will be
used as a base to expand iMedX’s US-based transcription workforce. Using iMedX’s
revolutionary TurboScribe® platform for medical transcription, iMedX’s customers
enjoy the benefit of an efficient transcription workflow and ease of management. With
TurboScribe’s integration with leading Electronic Medical Record (EMR) products,
iMedX’s customers will progress towards a paperless environment and a higher quality of
care. LS’s customers will benefit from the ease of use of the TurboScribe® technology
and will see efficiencies in the paperless workflow that TurboScribe® provides.
Additionally, LS’s customers can take advantage of iMedX’s other Internet-based
products such as its TurboRecord® - iMedX’s low-cost EMR, and their ePrescribing
product TurboRx® for error-free prescribing through pharmacies across the country.
Venkat Sharma, iMedX’s president and CEO, along with the current iMedX management
team, will continue to lead the two companies. LS will operate as a wholly-owned
subsidiary of iMedX, as an Ohio corporation. The LS team will continue servicing LS
customers as Brad and Susan Runyon, the founders of LS, work toward rapid growth in
the institutional market of hospitals and the Government. LS’s 10,000 square foot offices
in the tri-state area of Southern Ohio/Kentucky/West Virginia will help the local
community through iMedX’s planned growth in that area.
“In this global economy it is important to balance high-quality resources to ensure 24x7
availability for the critical needs of patient care” stated Venkat Sharma, iMedX’s
president and CEO. “Forward-thinking companies, such as iMedX, with a scalable and
seamless worldwide workforce and powerful technology to automate medical
documentation management, are instrumental in achieving significant improvement in the
quality of care. With providers and Government workers in multiple locations at all
hours, it is imperative to use the online delivery and availability of medical
documentation that iMedX provides. With the addition of LS, iMedX acquires a secure
facility servicing Government and hospitals with in-house transcriptionists, thus
providing an opportunity for direct supervision and training of US medical transcriptionists in a secure office setting. This is unique in the industry.”
Mr. Sharma adds “Following on the heels of our acquisition of MR Transcription last
October, this acquisition is an essential part of our strategy to grow through direct sales as
well as acquisitions, and propagate TurboScribe® software throughout our customer
base, concurrently rolling out other products to help the physician lower costs and
increase revenues. Through this strategy iMedX intends to grow into a major force in the
clinical documentation software and services industry.”
