iMedX, a leading healthcare software and services company, today announced that it had acquired three companies in the United States (US) and launched two new products, TurboRecord and TurboRx.
Speaking on the occasion of the Company's fourth anniversary celebrations, CEO and President Venkat Sharma said on the heels of its first acquisition in February 2007, iMedX had acquired M R Transcription (MRT), a 15-year-old company that services large health systems in the US, L S Services Inc, currently serving hospitals and state governments across the country, and California-based Verna Transcription Inc, serving small clinics in the local area. He said ''these acquisitions are an essential part of our strategy to grow through direct sales as well as acquisitions, and propagate TurboScribe software throughout our customer base, concurrently rolling out other products to help physician lower costs and increase revenues. Through this strategy, iMedX intends to grow into a major force in the clinical documentation software and services industry.'' About the new products, he said TurboRecord was a unique, Internet-based product to automate the paper-driven process in physician offices, enhance productivity and reduce burgeoning healthcare costs. TurboRx was an Internet-based product to enhance health care quality by reducing the errors due to paper-dependent prescribing processes. Both the products do not require the heavy up-front expenses that other such products do, and make it easy for physicians to transition to a high-quality, paperless environment, he added.
iMedX had grown ten-fold in the last four years, he said, adding that it provides employment to hundreds of people across India by sub-contracting its work to the vendors.
